To recognise the hard work of learners, our Tutors are nominating those who are doing exceptionally well throughout their apprenticeship to be awarded as our Apprentice of the Month.

Congratulations to our November Apprentice of the Month, George Cookson, who is currently completing his Level 2 Trade Supplier Apprenticeship with EDA Apprenticeships Plus. George has now been awarded our Apprentice of the Month twice, which is a huge achievement! Read the previous nomination here.

George is working in the UK’s electrical wholesale sector. Electrical wholesalers are the essential link in the supply chain between the manufacturers of electrotechnical products and the contractors and electricians who install them.

EDA Apprenticeships Plus manage the apprenticeship service on behalf of the Electrical Distributors’ Association (EDA), the trade association for UK electrical wholesalers.

George’s Tutor, Damien said:

“George actually won LSP’s Apprentice of the Month before!! Back in August 2021, when he was 3 months into his apprenticeship.

George suffered a major setback earlier this year (2022) with a health issue that required him to spend approximately 9 months away from work.

Having recently returned to full time work after his recovery, George has hit the ground running like he has never been away.

I am in awe of his positive attitude, resilience and take on life. He is a joy to speak to. When tasked to complete his remaining apprenticeship work in a short space of time (he has until 19th December) he has worked exceptionally hard to ensure he does this. I am confident he will achieve the results he desires.”

“George is passionate about his job role, and I know his manager, Mike, is also pleased with his progress and contribution to the branch.”

“George cares about the work he produces and does so to a high standard. If he is not sure of something, he will ask. He is not afraid to call or email me and I am happy to help him anytime.”

“George is passionate about his job role. He can talk at great depth about products and services that he delivers and gives great examples for our discussion and reflective accounts.”
