What is your role at LSP?

My role at LSP is all about making learning accessible, inclusive, and successful for every apprentice. I identify and support apprentices with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), creating personalised support plans and reasonable adjustments that help them thrive throughout their programme and assessments. I work closely with tutors, skills coaches, employers, and apprentices to remove barriers to learning, promote inclusive practice, and ensure support is effective at every stage. I help staff and employers better understand neurodiversity, SEND, and workplace adjustments, while ensuring all ALS processes meet quality and compliance requirements.

In short: I help people overcome barriers, achieve their goals, and feel supported every step of the way.

What do you find most exciting about your role?

The opportunity to make a real difference to learners. After 20+ years in education, I'm still passionate about helping people overcome barriers and reach their potential. Every learner is different, and I enjoy finding practical, creative ways to support them so they can succeed both in learning and in the workplace. Ensuring inclusive environments where everyone feels valued and supported.

Seeing a learner grow in confidence, achieve their qualification, or realise they can do something they once thought impossible is what makes this role so rewarding for me.

What’s your favourite holiday destination?

New Zealand – breathtaking landscapes, incredible adventures, and some of the friendliest people you'll ever meet. One minute you're on a beach, the next you're surrounded by mountains! It's the perfect place to switch off, explore, and remind yourself how amazing the world can be.

Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies?

My hidden talent is probably my determination in the gym! I enjoy strength training and pushing myself to achieve new fitness goals. I'm also a keen walker and love spending time outdoors—whether it's a countryside stroll or exploring somewhere new. For me, it's the perfect combination of challenge, wellbeing, and relaxation.

What is your greatest achievement?

My greatest achievement is travelling the world on my own. It allowed me to experience different cultures, see incredible places, and create memories that will stay with me forever.

What’s your favourite book or film?

Where the Crawdads Sing.

What advice would you give to your 16-year-old self?

I'd tell my 16-year-old self to be more confident, trust the process, and stop worrying so much. Work hard, stay curious, and don't be afraid to take opportunities when they come your way.
