Line Manager of the Month - October 25

This month, we’re delighted to recognise Lee Stafford from Barratt Redrow as our October Line Manager of the Month! Nominated by learner Natalie, Lee’s compassion, flexibility, and genuine investment in the development of others have made a remarkable impact on her apprenticeship experience.

As a mature apprentice and mother of two, Natalie faces the daily challenge of balancing work, studies, and family life. Lee has played an instrumental role in making that balance possible. Through understanding and thoughtful adjustment, Lee ensures Natalie feels supported both professionally and personally.

Natalie explains:

“I would like to nominate my line manager, Lee, for their exceptional support throughout my apprenticeship. As a mature apprentice and a mother of two, balancing work, studies, and family life can be incredibly demanding. Lee has consistently shown understanding and flexibility, making it possible for me to manage both my professional development and personal responsibilities.

Lee regularly checks in to see how I’m coping and offers time away from work when needed to focus on assignments or exams. Their willingness to accommodate study days and support my childcare arrangements has made a significant difference during stressful periods.”

Lee’s support goes well beyond flexibility by taking an active role in Natalie’s development, connecting her learning with meaningful on-site experience and encouraging her to engage with her studies.

“Beyond practical support, Lee takes a genuine interest in my learning. They often take me out on site visits and make a point of connecting what I’m studying with real-world scenarios, helping me apply theory to practice. This not only enhances my understanding but also boosts my confidence and engagement.”
