Apprentice of the Month: Ronnie Girdler

We’re thrilled to celebrate Ronnie Girdler from Berkeley Homes as our September Apprentice of the Month, nominated by his line manager, Oliver! Ronnie has demonstrated exceptional dedication, professionalism and drive - taking on responsibilities well beyond the typical expectations of an apprentice.

Reflecting on Ronnie’s performance, Oliver, shared:

“Ronnie has performed exceptionally well over the past month at Berkeley Homes, taking on and completing tasks that aren't typically expected of an apprentice and would typically be tackled by someone more senior.”

Rising to the Challenge

One challenging task that Ronnie has excelled with is in relation to gathering cost information on various products that comprise the interior look and feel of the next block of apartments he is working on.

Oliver explained:

“The challenge was to meet the needs of the sales team by adapting the interior design to give variety across each building core.”

Despite these complexities, Ronnie embraced the challenge with enthusiasm.

“Ronnie has embraced the challenge with passion and integrity (aligning with our Be Passionate and Have Integrity values), contacting multiple suppliers and trade contractors for material samples and rates that the business can consider - all within a tight timeframe to enable us to launch our marketing material.”

Going Above and Beyond

Ronnie’s proactive approach extended well beyond desk research.

“The task has involved Ronnie going to various showrooms across London with our Interior Designers and learning how to balance creativity, quality and budget.”

Ronnie’s attention to detail and presentation skills have also shone through.

“Ronnie has pulled together multiple presentations for the business to make informed decisions, the presentations have been well formatted and concise that aligns to our Creativity Value.”

A Well-Deserved Recognition

Ronnie responded to this recognition, saying:

“It’s been a great experience so far learning with LSP and working with Berkeley Homes – I’ve learned a lot about how things work on site and had the chance to get involved in some interesting tasks and projects and have been given the opportunity to really get stuck in. Big thanks to my team and my manager Oliver for the support and LSP for aiding my education and helping me get to the next level in my career. It is nice to see the hard work paying off.”
