Apprentice of the Month - November 25
Apprentice of the Month: Anya Mortimer
This month, we’re incredibly proud to recognise Anya Mortimer from Team Plan, whose enthusiasm, professionalism, and rapid growth have made a remarkable impression in just a short time. Nominated by her line manager, Lauren, Anya has quickly become someone the team - and even clients - are taking notice of.
Lauren shared powerful feedback that perfectly captures Anya’s impact so far:
“Fantastic attitude and huge potential” - internally we know this about Anya, but to hear this feedback from a client at such an early stage in her career is exceptional and needs to be celebrated.
Anya joined Team Plan at the beginning of September and had around six weeks before her apprenticeship programme officially started. But instead of easing herself in, she jumped straight into learning with initiative and enthusiasm.
“In that time she was proactive and motivated in her pre-course learning, asking fantastic questions and engaging extremely well with the team. Colleagues started tasking her with activities and she continued to impress. So much so that the decision was made for Anya to support on her first project - a planned outage of FM2, an Energy from Waste Power Station in Ferrybridge, West Yorkshire.”
During the two-week outage, Anya worked closely with Project Planner Seyram Amuwudah, taking responsibility for live-tracking key outage activities through MS Project.
“She monitored progress and responded to delays and changing conditions in real time and played an active role in daily meetings reporting on progress.”
Lauren reflected on just how impressive this was:
“This was Anya’s first site experience, and she handled what could feel like an intimidating environment with enthusiasm, confidence, and professionalism - working alongside a range of construction and engineering professionals in a high-pressure, time-sensitive situation.”
Despite the shift from her typical working hours, Anya approached the change with positivity. The project was delivered safely and on time, and with another planned outage scheduled for the new year, Anya is expected to play another key role.
Lauren added:
“Anya has displayed our company values from day one - collaborative, skilled, innovative. She works well with others, is proactive in developing her skills, and agile in her learning, embracing new programmes.”
Congratulations, Anya! Your drive, growth, and willingness to get stuck in from day one truly set you apart. Team Plan is lucky to have you - and we can’t wait to see what you achieve next.
