Alumni Spotlight: Danielle Hoadley
Alumni Spotlight: Danielle Hoadley
When Danielle Hoadley began temporarily covering a role at her workplace, she quickly realised the position required a qualification she didn’t yet have. Rather than letting that hold her back, she decided to take action.
“I realised the position I was temporarily covering required the Level 3 qualification for Business & Admin that I did not hold. I was thinking about my career after the temporary position would end and decided to gain the qualification to enable me to apply for a substantive position if it became available at this level.”
Shaping a Career Path
That growth gave Danielle the courage to take the next step.
“The apprenticeship gave me the confidence to apply for the role I was covering temporarily and I gained a substantive position at a higher level. It also made me start to reflect on the type of career I would be interested in and start to browse vacancies at a higher banding.”
Achievements and Recognition
Since completing her apprenticeship, Danielle has gone on to achieve some impressive milestones.
“I have been approached to train three other new Team Administrators into the area and supported another staff member to complete the same apprenticeship, so we are all working in the same way following the standards I set. I also supported a new manager in her role as there was no handover from the previous manager, utilising the skills I learnt to ensure she was prepared and informed ahead of meetings and events.”
Danielle’s hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed:
“I have recently been nominated for a Special Recognition award and an Unsung Hero award, both of which I was a runner up for. Although the nominations were anonymous, I spoke with the administration and management team and discovered the nominations were made by my line manager and service manager.”
A Proud Success
One standout moment for Danielle was implementing a large training scheme for her team of over 50 staff members.
“I had to split the team into 6 different groups, mixing a range of banding and positions over a period of 3 months. I had to ensure the scheduling was completed months ahead to allow for staff to make arrangements for childcare etc. and also worked around staff's personal flexible working arrangements/agreements. I also had to create a training schedule for these dates, liaising with representatives and suppliers that met staff's mandatory training compliance.”
