Support Coach (Apprenticeships)

We’re growing our Apprenticeship Services Team and looking for a Support Coach who believes that great pastoral support, strong relationships and early intervention can transform an apprentice’s journey.

✨ The Role

As a Support Coach, you’ll be the central point of contact for apprentices, employers and internal teams - ensuring every learner feels supported, engaged and on track.

You will:

  • Deliver structured progress reviews with apprentices and line managers

  • Bring together insights from tutors, employers, e‑portfolios and attendance data

  • Provide 1:1 pastoral support and early intervention when challenges arise

  • Promote wellbeing, positive behaviours and progression opportunities

  • Identify and escalate safeguarding or Prevent concerns appropriately

  • Monitor engagement, attendance, off‑the‑job training and functional skills progress

  • Build strong relationships with employers to support learner success

  • Maintain accurate, audit‑ready documentation in line with funding and Ofsted requirements

This role supports apprentices on construction‑related programmes, including civil engineering, design and build, site supervision and surveying.

💡 What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in mentoring, coaching or learner support

  • A confident communicator who builds rapport quickly

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail

  • Skilled at balancing pastoral support with accountability

  • Comfortable using digital systems and e‑portfolios

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of apprenticeships or FE

  • Experience supporting learner wellbeing

  • Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries

Essential:

  • GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or equivalent)

  • Safeguarding qualification (or willingness to complete on appointment)
