A Look at Our Recent Successes and Initiatives

There’s been plenty happening behind the scenes at LSP and we’re excited to share some of the highlights. Our team has been busy supporting meaningful causes, celebrating achievements and finding new ways to stay active and connected.

From raising money for charities close to our hearts to earning recognition for the work we’re proud of, the team has shown incredible energy and commitment. We’ve also been getting moving - taking part in wellbeing challenges, stepping away from our desks and encouraging each other to build healthier habits along the way.

International Women’s Day 2026

In honour of International Women’s Day, the LSP team came together to support Yorkshire Learning Providers’ Period Poverty Initiative. Through generous monetary donations, we were able to purchase essential menstrual and wellbeing products for training providers and voluntary organisations working directly with women and girls who need them most.

Every item bought with our donations was sent to Yorkshire Learning Providers as part of our collective contribution. These products will help ensure that women in need have access to free period supplies - something that can make a real difference in enabling someone to stay in education, attend training, feel confident and feel supported.

Thanks to the kindness of our team, we raised £110 in total, helping to create meaningful change for those facing period poverty.

The January 2026 Big 100

To kick off the new year with purpose, the LSP team took part in the Big 100 Challenge - a month‑long effort to run, walk, cycle or move our way across 100 miles by the end of January. The challenge focused on boosting wellbeing, staying active during the winter months and raising money for Action Bladder Cancer UK, a charity providing vital support to those affected by bladder cancer.

To keep motivation high, we set up a shared Teams chat where colleagues encouraged one another, shared progress updates and celebrated every milestone along the way.

A special shout‑out goes to Tutor Dave Martin, who went above and beyond by clocking an incredible 200.4 miles in memory of his sister, who sadly passed away from bladder cancer. His dedication was an outstanding achievement and a powerful source of inspiration for the whole team.

Christmas Jumper Day 2025

The LSP team brought plenty of festive cheer for this year’s Christmas Jumper Day, all in support of Save the Children.  It was great to see everyone get involved to help raise money for a brilliant cause.

Thanks to the generosity of the team, we raised £215, along with hosting a festive raffle featuring a Christmas‑themed hamper packed with seasonal treats.

A big congratulations to Michael Anderson, who was the lucky winner of the Christmas hamper.

LSP Wins Best Construction Industry Training Provider

We’re proud to share that we were recently named Best Construction Industry Training Provider at the Building the Future Awards!

Judges recognised LSP for our industry-embedded approach, close collaboration with employers, and learner-centred programmes that deliver real on-site results. Our tailored apprenticeships, strong retention and achievement rates, and clear progression pathways set us apart in helping thousands build successful careers in construction.

This award means a great deal to our team - it reflects the passion, hard work, and commitment that everyone at LSP puts into supporting learners and employers every day.

Congratulations to our Finalists!

We were also thrilled to celebrate four exceptional LSP learners who were finalists at the awards:

  • Larisa Frangulea – Rising Star of the Year

  • Charlie Mewis – Young Engineer of the Year

  • Harvey Weetch – Young Surveyor/Commercial Manager of the Year

  • Sirin Koca – Young Surveyor/Commercial Manager of the Year

We couldn’t be prouder of their incredible achievements!

Step into October 2025

The LSP team laced up their trainers and took on our Step Into October challenge - a month‑long initiative designed to get everyone moving, boost wellbeing and bring a little friendly competition into the workplace.

Throughout the month, colleagues across the business tracked their daily steps, motivated one another and found creative ways to stay active, whether that meant lunchtime walks, taking the stairs, or weekend hikes with family and friends.

Together, we achieved a huge milestone: a combined total of 7,564,250 steps. That's approximately 3782 miles!

Macmillan Coffee Morning 2025

Every year, the LSP team comes together from across the country to support Macmillan Cancer Support — a cause that means a great deal to many of us. It’s one of our favourite traditions, bringing colleagues together to bake, donate and share a morning that brings the team together for a great cause.

Our team whipped up an incredible selection of homemade bakes and as always, we added a little extra excitement with our annual raffle. The prize was a beautifully handmade autumn hamper, packed with seasonal treats and crafted with care.

Thanks to everyone’s generosity, our coffee morning raised £386 in total — a fantastic contribution to the vital work Macmillan does. And of course, a big congratulations goes to Sarah, who won the Autumn hamper.
