Line Manager of the Month - April
To recognise the continuous encouragement provided by line managers, our learners and tutors are nominating those who are offering outstanding support to be in for a chance of being awarded as the Line Manager of the Month.
Congratulations to our April Line Manager of the Month, Dave Hastings!
Dave was nominated by LSP Tutor, Chris, for his dedication when supporting learners Bonnie, Natalie and Ryan who are currently completing their Level 3 Team Leading Apprenticeships at Motus. Dave is clearly passionate about the progression of his learners, ensuring he is always involved and providing support.
Chris said:
“Dave rearranged his diary to ensure that he was involved in every minute of these learners reviews, dedicating most of the day to do so!”
“Dave engaged in active discussion during progress reviews around ‘Fake News’ (Theme of the Month) and actively promoted that learners should take an interest in Prevent and tackling extremist views or even (as a related issue) false narratives around COVID that could lead to conflict and potentially ill health. We also discussed management of 20% off the job and Dave was keen that learners were supported to have this time to develop without cutting corners in the process.”
”Dave took an interest in staff stress levels during the review and really wanted to actively support them. He discussed the needs of the business alongside the individual and showed that he really wanted them to do well and reach their full potential.”
“Dave was inspirational in his approach to giving apprentices challenging situations and creative ideas to meet the standard, which connected directly to their KPIs and in some cases providing additional responsibility related to data analysis and being part of the interview process for new staff.”
“As evidenced by the above, Dave was passionate about being involved in discussions during reviews and truly embraces the apprenticeship programme. He was also passionate in his verbal feedback to staff/learners, which encouraged them to do their best!”
