Apprentice of the Month - February

To recognise the hard work of learners, our Tutors are nominating those who are doing exceptionally well throughout their apprenticeship to be awarded as our Apprentice of the Month.

Congratulations to our February Apprentice of the Month, Keira Andrews! Keira is currently completing her Level 4 Quantity Surveying Technician Apprenticeship with Amey and was nominated by her Support Coach, Danni and Line Manager, Tina.

Keira’s Line Manager, Tina said:

“I would like to nominate Keira Andrews this month based on her promotion on women in industry. Keira has been to a local university where she prepared and delivered a speech on women in construction, and she will also be attending local career events to encourage more females to apply for apprenticeships in construction to remove the stigma around construction being a male dominated environment, she is flying the flag for us girls and it is incredibly refreshing.”

Keira’s Support Coach, Danni said:

“Keira already has her own account to look after, but that doesn’t stop her from asking everybody else in the team if they need any help.”

“Part of Keira’s role is to raise payment notices and pay-less notices, this means that if a job is not completed or has taken less time than quoted, it is up to Keira to find this and explain this to the sub-contractor, never a nice conversation but she does it anyway.”

“Keira is doing incredibly well at work, she has already been given her own sub-contractor account which she has ownership and responsibility of – a true testament to how well she is doing.”

“Keira has given a talk at university to promote women in construction. She has also been invited and is preparing to deliver other speeches at careers events tailored towards getting women interested in construction apprenticeships and to take away the stigma of it being a male environment.”

“Keira has 100% attendance and her log book that she has completed is thorough, well thought out and brilliant quality.”
